Tampa Charity
Arbordale Riding Academy adopted Sophie in October from Saddlebred Rescue. Sophie had been pulled off of the slaughter truck in July and had been up for adoption (more information on the Lesson page). Little did anyone know, but Sophie had a little suprise planned for us.

In January I started getting concerned about her weight and body condition and had made a february 11th appoinment with the vet for vaccines for the horses and to check Sophie. While awaiting the appointment, I had the farrier out to trim and shoe horses on February 4th. While he was working on Sophie's back hooves, I looked under her and noticed....Sophie was starting to get milk in her udder!

The vet confirmed on February 11th that Sophie was carrying a foal. On February 26th at 11:30pm, baby Tessa was born. She is strong and healthy and is growing like a weed! She enjoys having visitors and loves having her rump, shoulders and neck scratched.
It's A Filly!
