...we're not just another show barn, we're family
Bodie is an American Saddlebred who has a sad story with a happy ending. In 1998 his owner had to sell him due to divorce. She did not know where he ended up as her trainer handled the transaction. Somehow, Bodie found himself pulling heavy carriages for the Pennsylvania Amish community and trotting long, hard miles on the pavement. In the summer of 2007 Bodie started getting "road sore" and he was sent to the New Holland auction to be sold. A horse meat broker purchased him and Bodie was destined for slaughter.

Saddlebred Rescue has friends in the Amish community and Mr. Christian Stoltzfus stepped in and pulled Bodie (who they called Timone) off of the meat truck for Saddlebred Rescue. Arbordale Riding Academy adopted Bodie and eventually identified him as Kismet Prime Time, a 1994 son of the stallion Harlem Shuffle.

Bodie's biggest fan is Jennifer W. at Arbordale. She has shown him to several blue ribbons in the 2007-2008 Academy show season. The 2009 season will see Jennifer and Bodie leave the Academy ranks for the Junior Exhibitor Country Pleasure division.
